Our guests are the reason we are here. Your experience and safety are always at the forefront of our minds, so you can focus on all the thrills and the excitement during your time at Dreamworld and WhiteWater World.
Licenced Major Amusement Park
Dreamworld and WhiteWater World are Major Amusement Parks licenced by the Office of Industrial Relations (QLD). As licenced Major Amusement Parks, we operate under a comprehensive Safety Case and supporting Safety Management System. All Major Amusement Parks are subject to ongoing regulatory oversight which includes independent inspection of rides, slides and our comprehensive safety systems.
Our Benchmark
On top of creating happy memories that last a lifetime, Dreamworld and WhiteWater World’s commitment to delivering world best safety standards extends beyond our rigorous day-to-day safety checks and procedures.
A Forward Focus
We have a forward focus that includes continuous enhancement of existing safety management systems and practices as well as the adoption of new ones to uphold the highest safety standards across all aspects of the parks.
Best Practices
We continue to draw on the widely recognised and regarded safety and engineering practices of high reliability industries, such as the Australian commercial aviation industry. This allows us to incorporate practices that surpass the minimum health and safety requirements set for theme parks. With this approach, we are proud to operate the safest rides in the industry.
Our Processes
Pre-Opening Testing
Prior to opening each day, every ride is inspected by our experienced technicians and put through a rigorous ‘pre-open test'. This includes visual inspections and operational tests. In WhiteWater World, all slides undergo a ‘dry walk-through’ and an operational test with water.
Safety is our priority and no ride or slide will open unless and until it has passed all required tests
Ongoing maintenance program
Each ride or attraction is subject to regular maintenance and inspection and a scheduled annual ‘shutdown’ for detailed engineering inspection and service of its components.
The maintenance schedule is published on our website for your convenience.
Controlled-stop Sensors
All Dreamworld rides are fitted with sensors which are an essential safety feature and are designed to detect conditions that may affect the operation of the ride.
When these sensors are activated the ride is brought to a controlled stop and there is nothing to be concerned about as the ride is operating as designed to ensure guest safety.
Aquatic Safety
WhiteWater World is a member of the Jeff Ellis International (JEI) family of leading water parks, resorts and aquatic facilities, implementing the firm’s rigorous Comprehensive Aquatic Risk Management Program (CARMP). The WhiteWater World team work with Safety Skills Training (SST) who provide the Ellis & Associates training programs, teaching materials and assessment tools, helping us to offer the highest standard of aquatic safety.
